Every day, millions of people in B.C. rely on Tyam Construction to provide safe roads and infrastructure and don’t even know it. But the folks at Tyam know their work carries a lot of weight. That’s why the Tyam Team is so hard-working, dedicated and committed to delivering excellence every step of the way.

4 Core Values help Tyam deliver projects on time and on budget:

  • Safety
Health and safety are the highest priority at Tyam, which prides itself on its strictly-controlled safety program.
  • Quality
The path to success is paved with sufficient oversight and quality control at every phase of every project. Quality work drives Tyam’s team of highly-skilled professionals.
  • Innovation
By refining techniques and taking a creative approach to construction issues, Tyam has improved cost efficiencies on projects. This strategy sets Tyam apart in an industry where costs are increasing at unprecedented rates.
  • Teamwork
In the construction industry, teamwork is more than a motivational tool. At Tyam, team effort is a requirement on every front, and guarantees a smooth and safe working relationship between office management and field operations teams.

At Tyam we value our people; they are an essential factor in our continuous success. We appreciate the worth of the many years of experience and diversity they bring with them. We hire staff with diverse backgrounds and many years of experience in all aspects and types of construction. From our estimators and accounting staff, to our project coordinators and site foremen, everyone brings with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. We also have an advanced co op program that provides opportunity for university students to gain valuable experience from industry professionals.

From its employees and contractors to visitors to sites, Tyam is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment above and beyond industry standards.

Tyam has developed its own Health and Safety Program with input from the CLRA, B.C. Construction Health & Safety Council, Tyam staff and safety professionals. To maintain a safe workplace, Tyam staff review its Health and Safety Program on a regular basis to ensure it incorporates best practices and continues to exceed regulatory requirements.

Each supervisor at Tyam is kept up-to-date of their responsibilities regarding health and safety matters and is held accountable for their actions. All site visitors and sub-trades also must comply with site health and safety rules and regulatory requirements, and Tyam provides effective controls to prevent public harm on its project sites.
